Roll Bending Function of the Pipe Bender
The roll bending function is to bend and shape metal tubing through a set of adjustable rollers, applicable to a wide range of metal materials (such as stainless steel tubing, aluminum alloy tubing, copper tubing, etc.). Roll bending technology is widely used in automotive, aerospace, construction, machinery manufacturing and other industries, able to achieve large radius and complex shape bending.
Roll bending main features
- Multiple rollers work together: roll bending machine is usually equipped with three or more rollers, by adjusting the position and pressure of the rollers, to achieve the bending of the pipe.
- Large radius bending: suitable for pipe processing that requires a large bending radius, such as architectural decoration, large-scale pipeline projects.
- High flexibility: by adjusting the position and pressure of the rollers, different bending radii and shapes can be realized to adapt to a variety of processing needs.
- No thermal processing: roll bending technology is cold processing, will not cause thermal deformation of the pipe, to ensure the mechanical properties of the material.
Roller bending working principle
- Setting and positioning: the tube is placed between three rollers to ensure that the material is correctly aligned and fixed within the machine.
- Bending process: The tube is gradually bent by the rotation and pressure of the rollers. The upper roller exerts downward pressure while the two lower rollers slide upward to deform the tube.
- Adjustment & Monitoring: During the bending process, the pressure and position of the rollers are adjusted as needed to achieve the desired bending angle and curvature.
- Completion & Inspection: After the desired bend is achieved, the tube is removed and inspected for consistent radius and the presence of defects.
Application areas of roll bending
Automobile manufacturing, for the production of automobile exhaust pipes, frame structures, etc. Aerospace, for the manufacture of complex tubes in aircraft components. Construction industry, used for decorative pipes, railings and other bending. Machinery manufacturing, for the production of various mechanical parts in the pipe.
Advantages of roller bending
High precision, through the CNC system to control the movement of the rollers, can achieve high precision bending. High efficiency, compared with traditional bending methods, roll bending technology processing speed, suitable for mass production. Low deformation, due to the use of cold processing, the pipe is not easy to heat deformation in the bending process. High adaptability, can handle different diameters and wall thicknesses of the pipe, a wide range of applications.
The development trend of roll bending
Intellectualization, modern roll bending machines are increasingly using CNC systems and automation technology to improve processing accuracy and efficiency. Multi-functionalization, combined with other processing technologies (such as cutting, welding), to achieve integrated processing. Greening, reducing energy consumption and waste emissions during processing.
