Relationship between bending mold diameter and tube size
Usually, the inner diameter of the pipe bender mold should be slightly larger than the outer diameter of the steel pipe to ensure that the steel pipe can pass through the mold and achieve smooth bending and forming, generally according to the actual processing requirements and precision to determine the specific size difference. For some common pipe bending process, when the diameter of the steel pipe is small, the mold outer diameter may be a few times the diameter of the steel pipe; and when the diameter of the steel pipe is larger, the mold outer diameter and the multiplier relationship between the diameter of the steel pipe may be different.
Common pipe bender mold diameter and pipe size correspondence
Small pipe bender: for smaller diameter steel pipe, such as the diameter of 19mm, 22mm, 25mm, etc., the corresponding mold diameter is usually about 30mm to 50mm.
Medium-sized pipe bender: can process a larger diameter steel pipe, such as the diameter of 32mm, 38mm, 45mm, etc., the mold diameter is usually between 60mm to 100mm.
Large pipe bender: for processing large diameter steel pipe, such as the diameter of 60mm, 76mm, 89mm, etc., the mold diameter may reach more than 120mm.
In practice, a small number of test bends can be used to verify the suitability of the mold and steel pipe, and according to the test results of the mold to adjust or select a more suitable mold.
